Today’s adventure was a reminder that it never hurts to keep ice skates in your car trunk. We decided to stop by Kelly Lake to see what it looked like after the recent fires of 2019 blazed through many acres of the Kenai National Wildlife refuge.. but first, coffee. Along with a friend, we hiked the short distance to the USFW cabin on the lake. We did not expect to find that the lake would be perfect for skating! We ended up spending the afternoon playing on the lake and checking out the cozy cabin.
