Today’s adventure took us to Kasilof, where we stopped in at the Kasilof Mercantile and grabbed a pastry. The Kasilof Museum is closed during the winter months, but the Historic Park is still an interesting stop. Then we headed down to the Kasilof River for a short walk and a few photos. Being by the flowing water during the still winter months is always refreshing, and the hoar frosts was really beautiful. On our way back into Soldotna, we skied at one of the Peninsula’s gems – Tsalteshi Trails. And for a perfect way to end the day we visited Mel’s for coffee and Echo Lake Meats for some of their famous jalapeno cheese dip.
